Moving to a new house is definitely tiresome. But it can be exciting too! While transferring all your appliances and furnishings can squeeze gallons of sweat out of you, all the efforts will be rewarding once you get a sight of your newly-designed interior and finally get to invite families, friends and of course, new neighbours for that fun-filled housewarming party for your brand new home.
To start with, a housewarming party is a way to bond with your old and new friends, families, relatives and neighbours at your new place.
Tour them around your house and get design ideas from them if there’s still any part of the house that you find hard to put a design to or isn’t yet fully furnished.
It also serves as sort of a welcome party. Now if you plan to throw one, but don't have any idea on what to do just yet, here are some ideas and tips to get you started.
Set party gimmicks. Whatever type of party you decide to have, outdoor or indoor, formal or casual, it’s important that you have some attention-grabbers for a more memorable, more amusing treat.
Flag banners and string lights around the entire house and paint chip garlands will surely set the party mood and will give the festive ambience.
For a backyard barbecue party, you can administer thrilling outdoor games like obstacle courses, tug-of-war, darts and toss game.
For an indoor type, play indoor games such as Pictionary, Scrabble or card games. Do a mini treasure hunt within the house by hiding clues into the different rooms and corners, so that your guests can tour your house while having fun. Just don’t forget to give the winners of each game their prize!

Choose the menu. The food is one of the highlights in every party so it’s a must that the food be mouth-watering.
If you don’t have the time yet to prepare the food as you are still probably busy fixing things around, there are a lot of partyfood caterers to set the table ready with either cocktail foods or buffet meals, depending on your choice.
To engage the guests more, you can ask them to mix their own drinks – just ensure you have a well stocked drinks station with a variety of fruit juices, alcoholic drinks, ice and shakers.
That’s pretty much it. Send out your invitations now and be ready for an all out party right in every corner of your new home!
