Voon Eye Clinic Pte Ltd has its roots originating from one of the pioneers in ophthalmology in Singapore.
Dr Voon Gone Lin is a graduate of the University of Malaya and obtained a Diploma in Ophthalmology from University of London. He left for private practice in the 1970s and joined the Gilstead Road Eye Hospital and Hill Street Eye Clinic. He helped form the Chew and Voon Eye Clinic in the 1990s and subsequently the clinic was re-named Voon Eye Clinic Pte Ltd when his daughter, Dr Voon Li Wern, joined the practice in 2008. Dr Voon Gone Lin has extensive experience in comprehensive clinical ophthalmology including management of childhood refractive disorders.
Dr Voon Li Wern is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. She was trained in Ophthalmology in Singapore and underwent specialty fellowship training for 2 years in the fields of Cataract, Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Surgery at The Oxford Eye Hospital, Oxford, UK & Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK. She went on to work as a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist at the prestigious Oxford Eye Hospital. Dr Voon subsequently returned to Singapore and worked as a Consultant at The Eye Institute at Tan Tock Seng Hospital before she joined her father in private practice.
Dr Voon is accredited to perform corneal transplants and refractive surgery such as LASIK. She has vast experience in the management of other eye conditions such as glaucoma and retinal diseases etc. She is a member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery & a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Dr Voon is a Clinical Lecturer of the National University of Singapore and is actively involved in undergraduate as well as postgraduate training & education. She has published widely in local, regional & international peer-reviewed journals.
